This large porcelain Chinese dish dates from the Ming period, Jiajing, circa 1550.
A blue-white decoration. In the border birds and flowers, in the middle the hare with an alert hare under a tree and left in the sky the moon.
The hare and the moon are symbols for a long life
On the back five galloping horses in circles.
This is one of the designs of Ming porcelain from the 16th century.
In the Topkopi Saray Museum there is a similar dish.
